Art Books: David Grove

Illustrator David Grove is the creator of many amazing images. Chief among them (in my view) is his illustration for the cover of Rafael Sabatini’s famous novel, Captain Blood (above). It was an image that captured the imagination of a young Sigmadog way back in the 70′s, and helped inspire him to pursue a life in the arts.

Now, a new book is coming out on the life of this amazing artist. David Grove: An illustrated life is now available for order. I have it on good authority that the print quality of the many illustrations is superb. I’ve ordered my copy already, and anxiously await it’s arrival.

Winning is fun, but it’s no substitute for a happy client.

We’ve picked up a few awards over the years, but what we’re really proud of is our ability to keep clients coming back again and again. Winning awards has never been a huge priority for us. In fact we’ve kept remarkably poor records of our awards.

Nevertheless, some people find a bit of value in them, so here’s a brief summary of our awards (at least the ones we remember):

• 1 National CASE marketing award (1990)
• SIGMA named one of the Top 5 Design Firms in Spokane (Media Inc., 1995)
