Why I carry

A baseball team practicing in a ball park. Shots ring out. Several people are hit. Everyone runs and dives for shelter, hiding in the hopes the security guards will save them. They are helpless in the face of random violence.

“He had a gun. All we had were bats.”

Even with a security detail on site – men and women who acted courageously to save others despite their own wounds – the attack lasted four minutes.

Finally, the threat is taken out. Five are wounded, one very seriously (as I write this, it’s possible he may not make it).

The right to self defense is an inalienable right.

The video below of today’s attack on G.O.P. Congresspeople is a good illustration of why I have chosen to arm myself with a weapon, and to train myself in its proper and safe use.
