But this time I had my good camera (a Canon 70D and a Canon EF 70-300 lens). As you can see, there’s a big difference between the photo I took yesterday from fifty yards with my crummy iPhone camera and the photo I took this morning from one hundred yards with proper equipment.
This is not the same moose from yesterday. That was the mother, this is the young ‘un. Today the mother was not far away, though she was shielded by the trees. In the uncropped image, I think I can just make out a leg and part of her neck a few feet behind, but it’s not enough to say for certain (don’t bother looking for it here as that section is cropped from this photo).
These moose have been camped out in this section for a while now. I think I might give them a break and hike the dogs somewhere else for a couple days.
