Today Congress released the FISA Memo, which provides a rundown of significant facts regarding "the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and their use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) during the 2016 presidential election cycle."
There are many who are minimizing what is revealed in the memo. They are wrong. Read it for yourself here.
In reality, what is disclosed is much worse than any other scandal in my lifetime, including Watergate.
The Watergate scandal was about dirty tricks by one campaign against another.
This scandal is about a government illegally using its formidable powers of intelligence gathering to spy on and discredit an American citizen legally running for office.
You should be furious no matter your politics. Forget about Trump; this is not about Donald Trump. What the government did was wrong no matter the candidate.
This is clear and convincing proof our government is so big and powerful it no longer sees the need to respect or adhere to the Constitution.
That's why this scandal is so much worse than Watergate.
In a just world, there will soon be former DOJ and FBI officials experiencing the sweet, sweet, loving embrace of their large, sweaty prison cellmates, though I'm of the opinion even that would be too good for them. It may be time to bring back the stocks, stoning, and the gibbet.
