Johnston Wedding Invitation

This was a five-panel fold-out wedding invitation for a couple who were both heavily into kenpo karate. The first four panels (below) consisted of simple line-art illustrations with various metallic ink background washes. The first three panels used familiar wedding-ceremony text; the last panel added a martial-arts twist to a traditional line. The final, fifth panel (not shown) included the actual invitation text ("You are invited to attend..."). The real fun was had in the conception and creation of the first four panels. It was quite a success, and one of the favorites of the many wedding invitations we have done for friends throughout the years.
