Logo design is often considered one of the purest forms of graphic design. A logo is a symbol, and symbols are normally simple (though perhaps not always). Essentially, a good logo conveys the essence of the organization, by which I mean “what it does” or “who it serves” or any number of important bits of information from which a unique identity is formed. The best logos (in my view) convey more than one bit of information; they are complex in meaning, but simple in form.
